Customized product ....
Paul Oddo’s career in public accounting began in 1973 at Price Waterhouse, one of the Big 8 firms at that time. He opened his own practice in 1979, and shortly thereafter was joined by his brother, Warren Oddo. With more than 70 years combined experience in tax and accounting, Oddo Brothers CPAs offers a wide range of professional tax and accounting services to accommodate the needs of our clients.
Our services are customized to our clients’ needs, and cost is determined by what our clients require of us. The following rates apply to the services provided:
...$150--$200 CPA Partner rate
...$ 60--$100 Staff rate – technical work
...$ 20--$60 Clerical rate – technical support
Standard billing rates will be reflected in billing to clients when information is received timely and organized.
Using our personal and business tax organizers will ensure your documents are received in good order,
and allow us to be time, cost, and quality effective.
Due dates
.....Business returns.
For calendar year businesses, please remember to return a completed business organizer as soon as possible, but no later than
August 1 if extended. We will advise non-calendar year clients as necessary.
.....Personal returns.
Please allow at least one month to complete your work! Return your information and completed personal organizer by March 1
to meet the April 15 deadline, or by September 1 if extended. Returning clients should complete the organizer received from us
in the mail. New clients may link here for a blank personal organizer.
What happens if you miss the above deadlines?
The cost of tax preparation increases the closer it is to the deadline.
Why?
Typically many clients wait until March or April to provide their tax information. A wave of work reaches our office beginning about four weeks out. As the workload dramatically increases to meet the April 15 deadline, the hours and cost of preparation also increase to meet the demand. An extension helps avoid this until the final deadline in October.
Typical charges are shown below. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Typical average charges
NOTE: the following chart is for a typical client providing us with good records.
As mentioned above, you may not need all of the services we offer, so your charges would be less.
But, if your records are in good shape, and if we provided the following services to you over a 12-month period, then your charges would be approximately $3,030.
$650 Business tax return (corporation, partnership, Trust/Estate)
Non profit returns - $950 (not included in the $2,815 total below)
425 Personal tax return - see notes below
135 1099 forms
650 Four quarterly payroll tax returns AND w2s
300 Adjust QuickBooks to agree to tax return
200 Various yearly accounting assistance
200 Tax estimate/planning
150 Property tax return
420 Monthly sales tax return
$3,130 Total charges for 12 month service
(And yes, we can train you to do some of the above work. The more you can do, the more you can save.)
NOTES
Personal returns - If you have a business schedule such as C or E of F and a QuickBooks file is involved, that will require an additional $400-$650 per business depending on the circumstances involved with the business.
In some situations (your records are not in shape) we will bill by the hour.
Personal returns - If you have an in-depth schedule D (stock or asset activity) we will bill a minimum of $175 per form or by the hour if there is activity we need to consider that is NOT on the stock broker statements.
Personal returns - Our estimated minimum charge is $250 for a personal return with no business or rental income. An example would be a return with W2 forms and dependents only.
Personal returns - Back door ROTH IRAs require extra experienced time that we will increase the cost of your return.
You can expect an additional $50-$100 charge.
Net Operating Loss on either Personal or Business returns - This is an area that requires additional time because the IRS and GA loss calculations can be different and we have to maintain records to support the amount being carried forward from year to year.
And Georgia requires that you sign and mail (not efile) the calculation forms.
Expect at least a $100-$200 additional charge.
1099 forms - in general, $135 is our minimum price for a client who has their results in shape in their QuickBooks file.
If we need to assist in searching and summarizing your activity, then hourly charges will be incurred.
Sales Tax Returns - this varies depending on the filing frequency (monthly, quarterly, annually).
An average is $35 per month.
AMENDED RETURNS
...$400 for a personal return
...$300 additional amount if we have to redo a business return that flows over to the personal return
Amending returns is a labor intensive process that requires A LOT of paper and concentration on our end.
We only work on amended returns when we are not working on current returns.
Patience is required as it takes the IRS a long time to actually get it processed once they receive it.
The IRS has to manually process it.
What will we charge you? It depends on . . . . .
The overall important factor is how well you maintain your records
How timely you respond to our communications
What services you need as different services have different hourly rates.
If the services you require are outside of the scope of services we provide, we will let you know.
For example, we do not do form 5500 for pension plan reporting.
